Seal Beach on Fire
The Seal Beach Pier catches on fire. The old Ruby's Diner was destroyed but thanks to local authorities the pier escaped with minimal damage. At least 70 firefighters and eight fire boats tackled the flames. The fire was first reported around 7:30 and by 9:00 a.m., the fire was extinguished.
